ok so i havent posted on here in over a year, i think i posted like a few times, then disappeared.. has anyone else like just shut it out?

like i joined here as soon as i found out, then after a month or two i just didnt want to think about it; i had my final exams, elders creeping about, my mom got crazier, i was starting college, other kinda issues, which made me just blot everything i learnt about my religion out.

In the end, I don't think this has much to do with religion. It has to do with an implicit social contract.

If you're the valedictorian of a class and are asked to give a speech, just give the damn speech.

It's not the time to pray, fart into the microphone, or do a Rodney Dangerfield impression.

i should know the answer to this but.... so the great crowd class were identified in 1935, but does the wt suggest when it's members first appeared on earth?

all first century christians were of the annointed (i think that's right), so when do they think the first of the great crowd rolled up?.

well first i want to thank everyone here for the good points etc... i have received over the last few months.

you guys have really been helpful!.

so the other day my mother wrote me a 3 page letter telling me how she was so scared for me because she could tell my love for the truth was gone etc.. so i decided i wanted to totally rip the band-aid off and get this matter over and done with.

Wow. . . That is something! I would consider it a success, even if your mother's reaction was negative.

I don't know what your parent's relationship is like, but if its a good one, they will be doings lot of talking in the days to come. Who knows, maybe your father will talk her down.

i was inspired to write this after listening to a recent podcast of the thinking atheist by seth andrews.

as many of you know, seth was a devout christian who not only loved contemporary christian music but was one of the hosts of a popular morning show on kxoj in tulsa, oklahoma in the 1990s.

I argued with an over zealous MS/Elder wannabe over the Grateful Dead song Friend of the Devil. He opened the conversation saying "You know the Grateful Dead are demonic, don't you?"

it seems the new buzz phrase at the dc that they have been saying more and more lately is that jehovah protects one's spiritual health and that is what is more important that physical or financial health.. spiritual health.

as if that is something that is really quantifiable.

he protects it but we have no proof or evidence.. what is spiritual health?
